What do you need to know to get that first job on a film set? Do you know how to properly wrap a cable? Fly in a pancake? Or lock up a set? When should you expect to be paid and how much? Review set safety concerns to protect yourself and other crew members. 

In this presentation and hands-on workshop, WIFVNE President Emerita and Line Producer Alecia Orsini walks you through some of the lingo, gear, safety procedures, and best practices for becoming a production assistant.  Plus!  WIFVNE member and Talamas rental Tech Scott Lebeda, who is also a union camera operator who worked on the Academy Award-winning CODA, assists with the workshop and is ready to answer all your questions!

Wear comfortable clothing so you are ready for the hands-on activities. And bring your business cards because connections today can be collaborators tomorrow.  Pay as you can.

Alecia Orsini is an award-winning Producer, Director and Multi-Media professional with 15+ years of experience working in the film industry. She is a Line Producer/Production Manager for film, and has also directed, mostly recently, the short drama Late Fall.

Alecia is a prominent voice in the region's film community as President Emerita of WIFVNE.  She also devotes time to Save MA Film Jobs / MA Film Works, working behind the scenes for the grassroots organization supporting Film Tax Incentives in Massachusetts.
