Joining Women Make Movies in conversation about their funding and opportunities for filmmakers are two of our favorite organizations: Firelight Media and the Jerome Foundation.
Firelight supports non-fiction cinema by and about communities of color. Co-founded by award-winning filmmakers Stanley Nelson and Marcia Smith, Firelight and like-minded organizations are leading the way in using artistic practice, documentation, and cinema in partnership with their communities to weather periods of deep crisis. Senior Director of Artist Programs Monika Navarro and Impact and Engagement Strategist Sahar Driver will speak to their urgent and timely series called Beyond Resilience, as well as unpack all that Firelight has to offer including the Doc Lab Fellowship, the Williams Greeves Fund, and much more.
In the second part of our webinar, we are joined in conversation with Jerome Foundation Program Director Eleanor Savage and Program Officer Lann Briel to speak on the organization's grants and fellowships for early-career film, digital production, and video directors based in New York City. Their next submission deadline is April 21st. We’ll discuss all the opportunities Jerome additionally has to offer, and how they support vital organizations such as Firelight Media!
Women Make Movies is offering WIFVNE members a discounted ticket price of $15. Check your WIFVNE Members Only email for the discount code.
